Shaanxi

The northern part Shaanxi is the Huangtu (Loess) Plateau, and the southern part is the Qing-Ba Hilly Area, while the middle part is the alluvial plain of Wei River. The two water systems of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River are divided from the Qingling Mountains, which also set a distinctive division of climates between the north and the south of the provinceshaanxi along the mountains. The northern part has four distinctive seasons, with a cold winter and hot summer each year while the southern part has a warm and humid weather, with plenty of rainfalls.
Shaanxi provinceshaanxi is one of the important industrial bases in China. The industry of the provinceshaanxi is relatively more advanced than China’s other western provinceshaanxis and autonomous regions.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda

Situated inside Ci’an (Thanks-giving) Temple, for kilometers south of Xi’an City, is one of the famous Buddhist pagodas in China. Sponsored by Tang Emperor Gaozong (628-683), the temple was first built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty as a symbol of thanksgiving to his mother for her kindness who has suffered an early death. To protect the scriptures and statues he brought back from India, Xuan Zong (602-664), a famous Tang monk, made a proposal to the court for a pagoda to be built inside the temple. The pagoda experienced many vicissitudes in the past centuries. Mount Huashan

Mount Hua is located in the eastern part of Shaanxi provinceshaanxi belonging to the eastern section of Mount Qingling. Seen from a distance, it looks like a flower, hence the name Mount Hua. Its peak is Mount Taihua, known in the ancient times as the Western Mountain in Shaanxi provinceshaanxi at an elevation of 2,160 meters. In China there are Five Sacred Mountains (the Eastern Mountain in Shandong provinceshaanxi, the Southern Mountain in Hunan, the Western Mountain in Shaanxi provinceshaanxi, the Northern Mountain in shaanxi provinceshaanxi, and the Central Mountain in Henan provinceshaanxi.
