World Villiage in Mt Lushan “world village”

The villa groups in Mt Lushan began from late 19th century, all built in European or American styles, situated by quiet ravines, streams, or miraculous rocks around Kuling, which is like a museum of villas of all nations.
At present there are over 600 villas in various styles of over 20 countries, including American, British, French, German, Russian, Finnish, Duthch, Austrian, and Italian. During the reign of KMT, a lot of officials had their own villas in Mt Lushan, of which the most characteristic is Meilu, the villa of Chiang Kai-shek.
These villas are unique and elegance in design, and colorful and rich in styles. In the villas there is the Western architectural aesthetics realized in different designs and fashions, such as British arch, baroque, eclecticism, and Gothicism. Among all the famous mountains in China, only Mt Lushan has such a large “world village”.
