The 29th session of the UNESCO's World Heritage Committee had just concluded in Durban of South Africa recently. According to official with China's State Administration of Cultural Heritage, China had submitted official applications of Yinxu Ruins and the habitat of giant pandas in Sichuan Province for World Heritage to the World Heritage Committee and the UNESCO World Heritage Center had officially accepted them.
The ruins of Yin (Yinxu) were discovered an 1899 in Anyang, capital of the Shang Dynasty (1600 BC-1100 BC). Yin was the ancient name for the Shang Dynasty. Yinxu Ruins, with a history of 3,300 years, has seen in the past century about 150, 000 pieces of inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells, as many as 10, 000 pieces of bronze ware and various kinds of jade, pottery, bones evacuated from it, holding an important position in the history of human civilization.
