Mt. Changbaishan

Located in the counties of Antu, Wusong and Changbai in southern Jilin Province, Mt. Changbaishan is an official nature reserve covering an area of over 200,000 hectares, extending 78.5 kilometers north to south and 53.3 kilometers west to east. It has a wholesome natural environment and ecosystem with world famous precious animals like the Northeast Tiger, sika, sable and more. It represents a microcosm of China's comprehensive natural existence.

Tianchi Lake
Lying in the crater of a volcano at the main peak of the Changbai Mountains, Tianchi Lake was formed through the natural accumulation of water through the years. It is the largest crater lake in China. The lake water is as deep as 373 meters at its deepest spot. Weather is changeable in the lake area, and the waters are often found to be enshrouded in clouds and mist.
Known as the "source of rivers and lakes", the Changbai Mountains have abundant water resources. The Changbai Waterfall, 1,250 meters from Tianchi Lake, is an outlet of the lake water flowing between Longmen and Tianhuo peaks to join the Chengcha River. The waterfall has a flow of 1.25-5 cubic meters/per second. It cascades down over a 68 meter high cliff like a white jade belt hanging in the sky, bringing about a thunderous roar and foam that splashes several meters high in the air. Tizi River, Yuehua, Dongtian, Yinliu and Binghu Valley also boast impressive waterfalls.

The Hot Springs
At the north side of White Head Mountain, there is a group of hot springs covering an area of over 1,000 square meters. Two white rivers wind their way among the hot springs. The right banks where the mouths of the springs concentrate are shrouded in hot misty air all year round. The springs vary in temperature, with the hottest reaching 82° Celsius. The hot waters contain hydrogen sulfide and have enormous health value.
