The place widely known as the cradle of the Chinese revolution

It is 6 kilometers away from the northwest of Ciping and 1,586 meters high above the sea level, which combines natural sceneries with humane and cultural landscapes. As a deep and pretty aboriginal tourism scenery with mountains, water, forests, caves, birds and beasts, it has overlapping ridges and peaks, crisscross ravines, merging cliffside falls, and abundant animals and plants.
Five-Finger Peak is the symbol of Jinggangshan and is pictured on the back of the 100-yuan banknote and the souvenir badge. It has high mountains, dense forests and a wide range of area. There are caves all the mountains, where was always the hiding-place for military strategists.
Jinggangshan enjoys a dual reputation. It is more widely known as the cradle of the Chinese revolution. On Oct 24th 1927, the Autumn Harvest Uprising troops, commanded by Mao Zedong, passed by Five-Finger Peak and came to Dajing Village. Since then, they came into the struggle on Jinggang Mountains.During the early 1970s, a Beijing opera named the Azalea Mountain had sung throughout the country. In April of every year, when the tourists come to the Main Peak scenic area, the vigorous and vermeil azaleas from the south of the Five Ridges (the area covering Guangdong and Guangxi) provinces and the pure white and elegant ones from Jiangxi as well as various azaleas such as Houtou azaleas, Jinggang azaleas and Beirong azaleas will greet them. Between the thumb peak and the forefinger peak suspended a cliffside fall of 180 meters in length. More than 1,000 mu of the mountainous region behind the fall and the whole Five-Finger Peak have been overgrown with various azaleas, including over 10 variants with red, yellow, white, and purple colors. The Main Peak on Jinggang Mountains refers to the Azalea Mountains, where soldiers bled and sacrificed their lives. It has gone down in the history of Chinese currency with broad breast, outstanding spirit and magic hue.
