This mystery book is a box knitted by silk strings with a square shape of 28.5cm, originally located in the Baita Temple and now depositing in the Capital Museum, Beijing. Altogether there are 17 different colors used to make up this box, and it is never been opened since it’s unearthing. After it is discovered at the Baita Temple, experts have tried to find out what’s inside in the box by all means. They have known that there are China papers in it with X-ray, but they fail to open it for not knowing the fabric structure.
The Baita Temple, built with white outer-looking and with Zang style, is the biggest Zang Buddha pagoda still exiting throughout China. History has it that the Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty has ordered his men store some precious items of Buddha in this pagoda. However, what’s put in this silk box actually remains a secret.
