Sakyamuni

According to the Guangren Temple, a Tibetan Buddhism monastery, copied sculptures of Princess Wencheng and Sakyamuni aged 12 which was carved according to Sakyamuni's appearance whilst he was still alive will be welcomed to Guangren Temple along the way of “Tangfan Road”, after they are carried the rite of Kaiguang.
History had it that the Princess Wencheng in Tang Dynasty took the sculpture of Sakyamuni aged 12 which originally preserved by the Kaiyuan Temple in Changan to Tibet when she married the Tubo King Songtsen Gampo. That Sakyamuni’s culture later was preserved in the Jokhang Temple of Lasha. After Princess Wencheng’s going to Tibet, she never came back to Changan again. And she was viewed as the avatar of the Green Tara, the Kwan-yin Bodhisattva’s metamorphic body.
But the Lotus Throne of Sakyamuni was not taken with Princess Wencheng’s marriage for that Changan had a long distance with Tibet. And the Lotus Throne was removed into the Guangren Temple since the temple was constructed at the time of the Emperor Kangxi. Being the only one Tibetan Buddhism temple in Shanxi Province, the Guangren Temple not only embodies the common belief of the Han, the Man, the Mongolian and the Zang, but also symbolizes the good communication among nationalities.
