At present, Catholicism Divinity and Philosophy College of China, the biggest national divinity school in China Catholicism, has been found in Beijing formally.
It now has constructed ten buildings including classroom building, learned report hall, and library, etc, covering an area of 12 –acre. There are 24 professors from China and overseas teaching students of Catholicism Divinity and Philosophy College of China. And it becomes one of the best colleges in teaching and modern facilities among China Catholicism education.
The Catholicism Divinity and Philosophy College of China was initially established at November, 1983, and it was the best unit for training Catholic priesthood staff in China. It has recruited 10 terms of students with a total of 419 and trained more than 240 cardinal priests since it establishment. In the same period, China Catholicism also has instituted 5 regional divinity colleges, locating at cities of Shenyang, Shanghai, Wuhan, Xi’an and Chengdu. Together with these 5 regional divinity colleges, The Catholicism Divinity and Philosophy College of China play an important role in culturing cardinal-priest in China and doing research on Chinese Catholicism.
