Longquan Sword (also Seven-star Sword), was produced in Longquan region of Zhejiang Province in East China It is renowned for its durability and tensility, which is achieved by optimally integrating the metal's softness with its hardness. The history of Longquan Sword traces back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476BC), more than 2,300 years ago. Longquan Sword was used as a weapon of survival in ancient times. Today, it may serve not only as a more-than-capable Wushu (martial art) performance piece, but also as a treasured example of folk artwork to be presented to foreign guests.
