Some table manners to follow

From the time when our caveman ancestors gnawed their wild-pig bones in front of of their smoking fire to our own day when we sit around a table to enjoy a lot of courses, we have the history of the change in eating habits from the simple satisfaction of hunger to the meal as a delightful, if rather complex, social institution. In china if you are asked to dinner, there are some table manners to follow.
Eating usually begins once the host offers the first drink.  The host will usually serve the most valued guest with a selection of the best food on the table . There will be 8-10courses, so you’d better not eat a whole meal at the beginning, just sample everything on your plate. Business is usually not discussed during the meal  The host will usually order more food than can possibly be eaten as the host will lose face if it is eaten in its entirety. If you want rice with your meal, you will often need to request it, as rice is generally served at the end at dinner banquets. Don’t eat everything on your plate, or your host will see to it that you get more food to eat. Instead leave a little bit of food on your plateThe dinner is coming to a close when fruit is served. The host will not initiate a guest's departure, so make preparations to leave at this point.
