Peace hotel Shanghai (Heping fandian) is located right in the heart of Shanghai and reflecting Shanghai's history of last century.
This hotel has 380 well furnished rooms, all carefully preserved in their original 1930s style. In the heyday of 30's the hotel was a venue for many famous artists including Song Qingling, Charlie Chaplin, George Bernard Shaw and Noel Coward. Some of the rooms have spectacular views over the Huangpu River and all are decorated in their original Art Deco style.
There are 18 restaurants, bars, banquet halls and business facilities in the hotel, serving authentic Chinese Shanghai food, Cantonese, Sichuan cuisines, as well as the combination of French Cuisine and Japanese food.
The Hotel's Jazz Bar was once a venue for Shanghai sophisticates. There are band still play fancy tunes today, although the bar itself has become more of a tourist joint than a hang out place.
