Baked sweet potato

Bing Tang Hu Lu (a stick of haws sugar-coated haws )
A popular fall and winter treat in northern China is sugar-coated fruits sold from small vendor carts. This sweet includes haws, crabapples, water chestnuts, grapes and yam, makng for a colorful display of shapes, sizes and colors. The appealing sugar-coated fruits, about a half-dozen to a stick, are bathed in a rock-sugar syrup which hardens into a shiny candy coating.
It was the most popular fun food among children in the past.


Baked sweet potato
One can snack on a variety of foods served up by itinerant food sellers along city streets throughout China. One favorite is sweet potatoes. The sweet-potato man has turned his bicycle into a restaurant on wheels. A used oil drum, balanced between the two rear wheels, serves as a make-shift baking unit, with small cakes of coal fed into an opening at the bottom of the drum, which roasts the sweet potatoes strung around the top rim.
Just imagine when you walked in the cold, suddenly the sweet potato stall ran into your eyes, then what would you do?
