Laterns in China

Lanterns--In China lanterns re a symbol of joy, adding a festive touch to wedding, birthdays shop openings and New Year. The lantern Festival falls on the 15th day in the first lunar month, when lanterns are hung everywhere.
The tradition of hanging up lanterns started in the Han Dynasty and they have been growing more varied ever since. They are made out of bamboo sliver and colored paper in the shape of fish, flowerbaskets, boats, horses and pavilions
There are many kindxs of lanterns.Clorful Lamp:It is hung on the occasions of traditional festivals, wedding, birthday party for the sake of cheering up the atmosphere of happiness.Yarn-Covered Lantern:It is one of common colourful lamps, on which the paper with flowers, birds and animals on is enshrouded with a layer of yarn. It is popular in the south to Changjiang River.
Box Lantern:It is one of lanterns lit on the Lantern festival and can be widely found in Dezhou, Shandong Province. The lantern is multilayered with folk tale or dramatic story on each layer. It is held up with a long bamboo pole. With the fuse blasting, its layers show up.It is very interesting.
