Yantai Lace:It can be mainly found in Yantai, Shandong Province. Yantai lace was introduced into China by European priests. There were two types: square-shaped and net-shaped laces. The former type mainly include woven and knotted handiworks which are generally called "eight laces. " Besides, Weihai lace is made by fixing the contour of pattern on the table cloth and bed cover and cutting off the base cloth from the pattern. Rushan lace can produce an effect of "flower in flower" and form an interesting contrast among the patterns.
Chaoshan Drawnwork:It is distributed in Chaozhou and Shantou, Guangdong Province. Its materials are fine linen, organdie, etc. Its needlings vary abundantly, mainly including cross-shaped embroidery, pasting cloth, drawing silk, hooking patterns etc., among which the pattern- hooking method is the most characteristic. They use a special hooked steel needle to weave out lace by coiling it around white yarn thread or coloured thread. The products made of Chaoshan drawnwork can be divided into eight types: table cloth, handkerchief, pillow bag, quilt sheath, cushion cloth, etc.
