The gist of the Buddhist beads:

1. Buddha had the innumerable mercy to all living creatures.
2. 84,000 beads represent the universe and the living creatures in it.
3. Threading the beads mean the whole world is in mutual connection and impact, and it is the true Dharma.
4. 84,000 beads also mean that Buddhist doctrine is uncountable and universe so wide that there is neither outside nor inner.
5. The sign at the bottom of the lotus represents all things living in an auspicious condition.
6. Soaring dragons mean that they swear to keep Buddha's teaching and settle the justice in the world to benefit all living creatures. Simultaneously, the operation of Buddha's teaching resembles the dragons' adventurous and vigorous spirit, signifying that Chinese nation is the offspring of the dragon.
7. The colored rope which threading 84,000 beads represent five colors propitious ray when the Buddha attained enlightenment, and the flag of Buddhism has five colors too.
8. The five-colored rope threading beads expresses a belief that men of all races, areas, nations, colors, creeds, occupations and social classes are equal and belonged to a whole one. It also means all men in the world should be in peaceful co-existence and in coordinating development. The string of beads also means that the nature and the creatures are interdependent.
