Chinese comb, one of the traditional handicrafts in China , has a history over thousands of years .The original Chinese comb was discovered in Shandong－Ningyang in 1959. It is proved to be around 6,000 years old. 　Late in Jin Dynasty，combs industry appeared in Changzhou, and thrived during Qing Dynasty . By now , as the best combs in China, Changzhou combs have existed for more than 1600 years .
Nowadays, with the development of modern society, the usage of Chinese combs has changed according to some aesthetic needs. This change comes to the appearance of combs, which could now be variously ornamented. By such process like carving, drawing, scorching, etc, Chinese combs have more than 700 patterns now, including historical people, landscapes, birds, animals, opera characters and so forth .
