Takelamagan desert in Xinjiang is the second desert in the world and the first desert in China. The area of the desert is 33.7 square kilometers. Since ancient times, it has been almost not explored and called as ″Dead Sea″. Now it is verified that there are abundant petroleum and mineral resources in this desert. It is a foregone conclusion that exploiting a large-scale petroleum and mineral resources of Takelamagan desert because of lack of power nowadays. But the natural conditions of the desert are so harsh and the desert topography is so complex that ordinary vehicles are nearly not able to operate. It is necessary to develop the sand vehicle to exploit these resources, and the mechanical properties of the desert sand are first studied to develop the sand vehicle.
　　Considering actual conditions of a moving vehicle, this is, there is often crosswise displacement in desert sand deformation under vehicle running gear, and the stress and strain of desert sand are three dimensional, it is necessary that mechanical parameters of desert sand are determined by the testing method allowing for crosswise displacement. Therefore, the mechanical properties of Takelamagan desert sand under moving vehicle are studied by soil dynamic triaxial test apparatus.Although you can see the whole deaert is covered by sand,but you can find oasis everywhwhere ,too.Near those area,there are plenty water,green trees and vegetation,which can supply people and animals there life.The main animal there is camels .It is called the train in the desert.It’s the only tranaportation in the desert.
