A partnership between the China Golf Association and the World Sport Group, the China Tour expanded to six four-day events in 2006 each with a US$100,000 pool of prize money, after beginning with four three-day events in 2005. The Tour will continue to grow by two events added each year so that by 2008 there will be at least 10 tournaments. The tour is aimed at giving China's top golfers a solid foundation on which to build a professional career, by providing a consistent platform of well-managed tournaments and a prize money pool that will enable the successful players to dedicate themselves more fully to their chosen career.
