Many Oddities Things happen in China,just as happening in the Southernmost Province--Hainan

Hainan is the southernmost province in China. With a comparatively high average temperature, there is no distinct difference between winter and summer in Hainan. As a result, some plants and animals are exclusively found in Hainan and exotic flavors of ethnic groups also contribute to the special culture and customs. There are three oddities in Hainan.

1. Three sipunculid worm dish. Sipunculid worms belong to the silkworm family, and are rich in protein and low in fat. Hainan locals enjoy this highly nutritious and delicious food and usually prepare three sipunculid worms with caraway.

2. Three big rats can fill a gunny-bag. The rats in Hainan Province are said to be particularly big. They say some rats are as big as cats in the south of the Yangtze River.

3. Grandmas can climb up trees as fast as monkeys. Hainan is teeming with tall coconut and banana trees. Local residents are trained to climb up the trees to pick fruit from a young age; some can still climb freely even in their 60s and 70s.
