Mysterious driving

Once upon a time, there lived a group of people in the Southwest China, called “Bo ren”, who had a very special burial custom. Instead of burying the coffins under the earth, they hung them highly on the cliffs. The hung-coffins are usually 26 to 50 meters high above the ground, and the highest can be over 100 meters. But why did Bo use this way of burial? How did they hang such heavy coffins up to the cliffs? These questions remain mysteries for human beings.

The hung-coffins of Bo lay in Yibin in Gongxian. It covers about 130 square kilometers and has been granted the national historical preserve unit. The most typical two scene spots are Matang Ba and Suma Wan, which contain more than 200 hung-coffins. Matang Ba, also called Boren Gou, is a gully between two eminent cliffs. The peculiar geographic conditions there form a lot of fantastic landscapes, such as Lion Rock, Nine Lamps, Agate hillside, Dragon Cave, Which Horse Cave, Pearl Umbrella, Kitten Pit, etc. Suma Wan is about 10 kilometers away from the Matang Ba. Visitors can take a boat and watch the hung-coffins while floating along the stream and experience the particular tour. Fell curious about this mysterious place? Come on and see it with your own eyes!
