sited in the Himalayan foothills half way to Tibet . It's over
shadowed by the huge Jade Dragon Mountain , which can be reached by bus and has a cable car route to the summit also. The altitude here is about 3,500 meters. There are no trails, and the snow is part icy and part snow at an angle of about 25 degrees, often waist deep, leading after 15 minutes to a valley of more powdered snow, which in turn leads to a forest trail.
Getting There:
Take flight from Kunming to Lijiang, then take
taxi or bus to get to the mountain.
